NOVEMBER SPIRITUAL TEACHING
Golden and copper
sunbeams
Stealing between the
trees
Breath of the sun
Quiet, do you hear
Can you see
Do you feel
Can you taste
the light of God
The gold caresses the
green
Heaven embraces Earth
Life eternal.
(Jim November
2001)
It is a sadness, that in our humanness, we forget our
divineness—the beauty of Creation. Each heartbeat is a heartbeat of eternity,
each breath, a breath of infinity. All is impermanent and constantly changing
in a human perspective but alas all permanent as a vibration of eternity. As we
clutch onto a reality of “things as they were,” the shadow of suffering only
creeps ever closer. The dawn, a new day of eternity and a day that will never
be again.
The rich source of
creation and the mysteries of life are encoded in the pulse beat of each moment
of our lives. To walk a spiritual path is to be aware, awake, in each
moment. Aware of each word, each thought, each breath and each heartbeat. The
following spiritual exercise may help maintain and sustain your center and
awareness of beauty:
1.) Forgiveness
— Sit in a comfortable
position, either on the floor or in a chair.
If you are on the floor, please cross your legs in front of you. Place
your hands on your knees with the thumb and ring finger of each hand touching
to symbolize your emotional body. Let your eyes slowly close. Feel and
visualize your breath on the inhale coming from the Earth into your body at the
base of your spine. Feel it circulating
through your body and through your head. Hold for a few seconds. Now exhale, and visualize your breath
leaving your body through your mouth and returning back to the Earth—In your
mind repeat the phrase: I embrace
forgiveness. Repeat for as long as you feel is necessary. This is your
connection to the Earth, and will help you begin incorporating the path of
forgiveness into your belief system.
2.) Divine Love — Sit in a comfortable
position, either on the floor or in a chair.
If you are on the floor, please cross your legs in front of you. Place
your hands on your knees with the thumb and little finger of each hand touching
to symbolize your physical body. Let your eyes slowly close. Feel and visualize
your breath on the inhale coming from the Earth into your body at the base of
your spine. Feel it circulating through
your body and through your head. Hold
for a few seconds. Now exhale, and
visualize your breath leaving your body through your mouth and returning back
to the Earth—In your mind repeat the phrase: I embrace Divine Love. Repeat for as long as you feel is necessary.
This is your connection to the Earth, and will help you begin incorporating the
path of unconditional love into your belief system.
3.) Harmonious
Peace—As above except
place your hands on your knees with the thumb and pointer finger of each hand
touching to symbolize your mental body. Let your eyes slowly close. Feel and
visualize your breath on the inhale coming in through the top of your head,
descending from the Heavens and circulating through your body. Hold for a few seconds. Then exhale and visualize your breath
leaving your body through your mouth and returning back to the Heavens -- in
your mind repeat the phrase: I embrace
Peace and Harmony. Repeat for as long as you feel is necessary. This is
your connection to the Heavens, and will help you begin incorporating the path
of peace and harmony into your belief system.
4.) Oneness—As above except place your hands on your
knees with the thumb and middle finger of each hand touching to symbolize your
spiritual body. Let your eyes slowly close.
Feel and visualize your breath on the inhale coming in through the top
of your head, descending from the Heavens and circulating through your
body. Hold for a few seconds. Then
exhale and visualize your breath leaving your body through your mouth and returning
back to the Heavens—In your mind repeat the phrase: I embrace Oneness. Repeat for as long as you feel is necessary.
This is your connection to the Heavens, and will help you begin incorporating
the path of oneness into your belief system.
