God
The following is Divine Humanity’s
definition of God:
God, the One and Oneness
of all, the Mystery of Mystery’s, which is within us and that is outside
of us, transcends our abilities even as divine human beings to comprehend the
essence of what is the greatest mystery of all. God surpasses our dualistic
view of reality and is neither male nor female but is the Mystery of all that
there is. God is love not fear, both immanent, and transcendent.
As we can see, God is not the sole
property of any one religion. God is not to be feared. And surely God is not
some mysterious, vengeful ‘man’ hidden deep away within the
farthest reaches of the universe.
In fact, God is such a mystery that we do
not even need to worry ourselves about God. What we do need to do is to keep in
mind that the divine spark of God is within us and within all other things of
creation. And we need to keep mindful of our connectedness and how our words,
our actions and our beliefs affect not only us but all other things as
well.
A rose by any other name is still a rose
just as God by any other name is still the greatest mystery of mysteries. And
the mystery is un-explainable. But the reflection of God is known and is
awesome in its
simplicity, complexity and immensity—a beautiful collage of creations
ranging from cedar trees, bumble bees and humans to stars, galaxies and black
holes. This is total inclusiveness.
To know God is to know ourselves and to know all other things—not from our mind but from our heart. It is as simple and as magical as
lying on the earth while watching the clouds pass overhead. It is the breath of a baby. It is the over-cast morn. It is the light that you may see in each others eyes. And it is the volcano that destroys but in the same breath
creates new land—baby earth.
Discover God within your heart and
express God, the Divine, that is within you and honor the Divine in all other
people and all other things of life. Acknowledge and know that we are all in
the “stream of creation,” where all are One.
SPIRITUAL
EXERCISE: The focus of your mind determines your
reality and the quality of your heart. Therefore, instead of focusing on the
negative humanness of yourself and life (criticism, fear, anger, darkness,
etc.) focus on the divineness of yourself and life (praise, love, beauty,
light, etc.). Pick a day to begin—then in the morning look into a mirror into
your eyes, see not the past or your negative humanness but the present—your
divinity. During the day focus on the present as a divine human. Spend some time alone out in nature and
focus on the beauty and the love of nature in all it’s grandeur; the sun, the
clouds, the birds, animals, trees, flowers, etc. At the end of the day, observe
the divinity of a sunset and during the night, the wonder and awe of the moon
and the stars. Sleep in peace and arise at first light and greet the dawn, its
beauty and divinity and realize that this divinity has always been there for
you. As this new day dawns, I would ask that you begin to balance your divinity
and your humanity in this awesome journey that we call life.
