MARCH 2003 SPIRITUAL TEACHING
Heart (Spirit), Mind and Body—symbolically, our sun, our
moon and our earth, this is our sacred trinity, our divine microcosm of the
solar macrocosm. Each part of our trinity is divine and needs to be honored and respected, as each one of us is a sun of God.
If our sun is darkened and shrouded in a cold-casket of
stone, our mind sees only the “I” of existence. This “I’ is the unhealthy ego
or, if you will, the spiritual sleeping ego. This ego sees its power externally
under a paradigm of separateness. This external power driven illusionary “I” is
based as well on an unhealthy adrenal connected first chakra. All issues of the
first chakra will be predicated on the illusionary “I” of existence with nary a
thought to the reality of the “we.”
Chakras are a system of energy centers or power centers
found throughout the human body. The word itself means ‘wheel’ in Sanskrit,
which describes the turning, swirling aspect of these vortexes of energy. Each
chakra is also connected to a gland of the endocrine system. The first chakra
is referred to as the Root Chakra and is located at the base of the spine in
the area of the coccyx and associated with the adrenals. The color symbolism is
red.
What are first chakra issues? They are: security, basic
needs and basic human survival, profane and inappropriate sexual
activity/behavior and one’s connection to the earth.
In today’s world, what does this reveal to you about yourself and other
human beings as well as the behaviors of yourself and others?
