 MORNING STAR INSTITUTE
The Morning Star Institute, a non-profit
corporation, provides a comprehensive educational opportunity for any
individual to explore the lesser and greater mysteries of life and creation.
This spiritual and religious training rises above the dogmatic faith and
doctrinal authoritarianism of organized religion. The Morning Star Institute
provides a universal beacon that addresses people’s longing for a deeper
experience of the divine, individually and collectively, without the
interference of established dogma and doctrine. The Institute, MSI, delves into the
mysteries of the heart and the mind as well as the totality of the soul—body,
mind, emotion and spirit. Part of the focus of this seminary is to serve as a training
and ordaining program for those interested in the transfaith training of Divine
Humanity. Transfaith is not inter-faith, but a faith that transcends the dogma
and doctrine but not the knowledge or wisdom of established religions. Another focus of the Morning Star Institute is to provide teachings in the Lesser and Greater Mysteries of life and creation. In the mythology of the Holy Grail, the Lesser Mysteries are a return to the outside of the heart where you observe the outside of the sacred vessel without looking in, while the Greater Mysteries go to the center of the heart and view the inside of the Grail and drink of it’s essence.
After more than 20 years of searching and
seeking for the mysteries of heaven and earth, JC Husfelt, D.Div. had a vision
in October of 1993 on the Big Island of Hawaii. In the pre-dawn hours a
heavenly voice spoke to him—“this star is you, you are this star.” The star was
Venus, as the shining morning star. Since the vision he has been bringing the
message of Divine Humanity to all who would listen. With the beginning of a new
millennium and the further rupturing of society as well as the pain, suffering,
dis-empowerment and separatism caused by the dogmatic beliefs of organized
religions, JC believes that the time is now right for the training and
ordination of Divine Humanity spiritual/religious leaders. His wife and
co-director, Sherry, supports JC in this effort and assists in the teachings
and trainings of MSI.
Divine Humanity is a world religion of openness,
inspiration and freedom based on a message, a way and a path. It is
non-dogmatic and non-doctrinal and open to all of humanity. It requires no
abandonment of another religion/belief system and one’s membership is not based
on a canon such as baptism or circumcision. In addition, Divine Humanity is a
religious philosophy of wholeness or oneness where everything in creation is
divine, the love/light of God, as well as it’s own unique intrinsic vibrational
expression. Divine Humanity, as a world religion of equality and
simplicity, conveys a love for all forms of life and recognizes an expression
of divinity in all things. Divine Humanity is a world religion of the
individual. With each person being divine as well as human there is no
necessity for the concept of a gatekeeper (clergy/church) between each
individual and God. Each person is a child of creation or son/daughter of God
and has direct access to God and the mysteries of creation. This is total
Freedom. And it is this very freedom that provides the security that every
human so desperately seeks. Divine Humanity, a theology of partnership not domination,
believes in the sanctity, equality and interconnectedness of nature and all of
its creatures. As a religion interwoven with life, Divine Humanity recognizes
every day as being sacred as well as profane. Every moment is an opportunity to
express our divinity and/or our humanity, whether it be it’s positive joys or
negative expressions.
As a new
millennium seminary, MSI is rooted in egalitarianism and a theology of
partnership not domination, believing in the sanctity, equality and
interconnectedness of nature and all of its creatures. As a seminary student
you will learn from nature while working towards becoming a “Master of Secrets”
or Hierophant (bringer of the light) by accumulating the experience,
knowledge and power in which to elevate action to a high degree of
achievement. You will be working towards
individual mastery and the transformation of the human condition into divine
substance by awakening the indwelling powers through progressive communication
with natural life. MSI is based on the concept of the
ageless Mystery School as witnessed by the traditions of the Egyptians, Celts,
Toltecs and others. It was in the search for the mysteries of life and death
that the ancient mystery schools, with their non-dogmatic openness, inspired
and began the foundation for the birth of many aspects of our modern society.
Our knowledge of science, mathematics, theater and even the Olympic Games were
brought to fruition in the fertile soil of these ancient schools. They taught
that life is a spiritual journey of awakening and in this awakening there is
the realization that each one of us is Divine and that we are One. To the
ancients this was the process of discovering one’s higher self and becoming
what they called “gods/goddesses”. These sacred centers of learning and wisdom
were based on the oldest form of mysticism and spiritual tradition—shamanism.
These hallowed universities were truly the first institutions of
body/mind/spirit training.
A united humanity of inspired,
spiritually and religiously enlightened and empowered individuals in partnership
with the earth. A humanity that transcends the illusionary and real boundaries
and barriers of race, culture, religion and in addition abolishes social and
economic disparity.
To heal and unite humanity and earth
through the message of Divine Humanity and through the ordination and education
of individuals in spiritual/religious leadership.
To cultivate the divinity and creativity
of each student while healing their woundedness. To support each student in
offering their uniqueness as a Divine Humanity spiritual/religious leader.
Divine Humanity religious leaders are
guides and counselors not gatekeepers. With each person divine as well as
human, a person needs guidance not patriarchal or matriarchal hierarchical
authoritarianism to help achieve his or her personal destiny and spiritual
evolution. The closest archetypal comparison of Divine Humanity religious
leaders would be the shamans (druids-ovates, mystics, kahunas, etc.) of the
past rather than the priests (clerics, ministers, nuns, monks, etc.) of the
present. Even though the shamans were gatekeepers in their own right, it was
not through the separation of self and nature and fear that the church and
clergy provide today through their dogma and doctrine. Divine Humanity religious leaders are
guides and counselors that are legally ordained ministers acknowledged as a
clergyperson in good standing and seen as a qualified ceremonial leader. Because of the constitutional separation
of church and state in the United States, ordained Divine Humanity religious
leaders are free to practice their profession or avocation without regulation
or licensure by any governmental body.
As guides, counselors and mentors Divine Humanity leaders have the opportunity to build circles of spiritual/religious
unity. These “circles of spirit” may be as simple as informal gatherings or as
complex as a church. Religious leaders may also provide spiritual direction as
a ‘soul friend’ as well as spiritual counseling and healing. As ceremonial
leaders, Divine Humanity clergy are considered
ordained religious leaders who provide guidance and support
through the transitions and passages of birth, life and death, as well as
celebrations honoring the sacred earth and her seasonal transits. The MSI will also provide guidance and
support to any ordained Divine Humanity leader that desires to establish a
church of Divine Humanity.
This is a yearlong Internet program
leading to certification as a Divine Humanity Spiritual Guide. Monthly readings
and lessons are conducted via the Internet. At the completion of the training,
a person may elect to attend a four-day Sacred Circles training to be certified
in conducting “circles of spirit.” SPIRITUAL HEALER: ONE-YEAR SPIRITUAL TRAINING
Our Spiritual Healer Training program consists of participation in our Apprenticeship, Spiritual Coach Training and a weekend Training and Certification Session. You will then be eligible to be ordained as a Spiritual Healer and certified in conducting "circles of spirit." Please see Up-coming Trainings for more information. SPIRITUAL LEADER: TWO-YEAR ORDINATION PROGRAM This two-year program consists of six
intensive seminars scheduled over a two-year period. Each seminar will begin
Thursday evening at 7:00 PM and complete on Sunday afternoon. In-between the
seminars, independent and case study work is expected and necessary.
Participation in a MSI Pilgrimage Journey is required within the two years. Our spiritual training will open you to
the limitless potential that you possess. Through the mastery of self, you will
connect with your vision and purpose and acquire the ability to help yourself
and others in the search for personal healing, vision, love and power. By learning
to use your intuition, dreams and visions you acquire a level of creativity
that opens your access to your Higher Self and divine love. You will learn to be a guide and mentor
to others in leading a healthy and wholesome life-style, which will support their
well-being and happiness. By learning to guide others in listening to their own
inner wisdom, you will help people develop the quality of trust which is so

they have straddled both worlds of traditional education and knowledge and the
non-traditional method of discovering and learning the spiritual and healing
lore of indigenous cultures throughout the world. This search for experiential

the Mediterranean, the Pacific and Asia. Their exploration of the soul
teachings of these time honored belief systems lets them distill wisdom in a

Welcome to the Morning Star Institute, A
New Millennium Seminary. You will discover that MSI provides an educational
opportunity that is more about self-transformation rather than the traditional
classroom fact-gathering seminary that results in a foundation of knowledge but
lacks the self-transformational experiences of earth-based traditions. In this
seminary, you will learn by listening and by doing. You will face your own self
so that you may help others in their spiritual journey of life. You will “walk
