The Grail Trail from Mountain to Sea

The Attainment of the Sanc Grael
Dante Gabriel Rossetti, 1857

“But thou of humble heart rejoice
To thee the greatest task is sent
The highest crown for thee is meant
Thy name is written in the Grail
Thou art its High King/Queen without fail.”

The Heavenly Warrior and the Earthly Priestess
Nine Day Journey September 12 – 20, 2009

Our destination is the Mediterranean, Cote Vermeille, and the Languedoc-Roussillon Pyrenees region of Southern France. This is a land where many spiritual and esoteric traditions flourished, such as the keepers of the Holy Grail, medieval alchemists, the Knights Templars, the Black Madonna and the Gnostic Cathars.

Join Rev. Dr. JC Husfelt, Rev. Sherry Husfelt, Rev. James Husfelt and Rev. Jessica Husfelt in a journey celebrating the 60th birthday of Rev. Sherry and the 40th birthday of Rev. James.

We will journey to sacred sites and explore the use of sacred geometry and the mystical use of light that is fused with profound energies. We will visit shrines to the archetype of the earthly priestess Mary Magdalene and ponder the ancient mysteries.

In addition, we will explore the archetypes of the heavenly warrior as well as the earthly priestess with very special initiations: Mountain Heavenly Warrior Initiation and Earthly Priestess Initiation. These initiations will be held in the mysterious and ominous Perillos Region of Southern France.

The mountain and valley of this area are connected with the Archangel Mikael. We will visit Saint Michael's Chapel, which may be the Grail Chapel of Perlesvaus.

Castle Opoul

We will explore both mountain and valley as the Mountain Heavenly Warrior Initiation will be conducted in the ominous ruins of the Castle Opoul situated on a rock outcrop where you may experience the mythic power of nature. Castle Opoul sits on Monsalvaeche, the Mount of Salvation named in the Grail chronicles as the hill on which the Grail castle was built. The plateau itself is known as Terresalvaesche. Salveterra, which translates as 'Land or Earth of the Savior / Salvation.’

The Earthly Priestess Initiation will be conducted in the valley within an ancient initiatory cave of the priestess. The valley is sacred and considered the “Valley of the Dead.” We will consider the analogy and metaphoric meaning of "Yea though I walk through the valley of death, I will fear no evil….” and a valley that takes us from peril, via death, to heaven.

“Thrice happy may be called the mortal
Who, ere he steps through Hades’ portal
Has seen Eleusis’ light before descending
For his is joy and victory unending,
And death to him brings life’s new offering—
The others plough their way through pain and suffering.”

Rev. Dr. JC Husfelt in honor of his 45th year in the martial arts will conduct special sessions in the esoteric arts of the warrior such as the concept of Celestial Chivalry and the inner meanings of Dieu, ciel, amour, mer, terre, vibre, mourir, aimer…. (God, heaven, love, sea, earth, to live, to die, to love….)

Sessions will be conducted in the esoteric arts working with the warrior Archangel Mikael, depicted in the Bible and Quran as the “great captain,” and the warrior Light King Fudo Myoo.

In addition, JC will offer special physical martial trainings that will help a person elicit a relaxed body and mind during stressful confrontations.

This once in a life time journey and quest to a land of myth, mystery and adventure must not be missed. The following is a brief, but not complete, itinerary of our mystical journey.

Saturday, September 12: We begin our journey at the Holiday Village of L’espinet – a former 300 acre vineyard in the heart of the Aude outside of Quillan only 30 miles from Carcassonne with two heated swimming pools, restaurant, tennis courts, horse riding, hiking trails and a spa: sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and gym. Our accommodations are holiday homes, similar to condos as each has a living room and kitchen.

Esperaza - 1999

Sunday, September 13: In the morning we head to Esperaza for the wondrous Sunday market and the church of Archangel Mikael. This afternoon we visit the mystical Rennes-le-Chateau where we ponder the ancient mysteries and spend quality time as we explore La Val-Dieu - Valley of the Gods. Throughout the graveyard, garden and church of Rennes le Chateau, there are secret teachings of the mystery schools. The church is small, situated on top of a hill that overlooks the Valley of the Gods, where abundant crops and rich soil bask under the golden sun.

Tour Magdala

Late in the afternoon we conduct ceremony at the Morning Star Armchair - a mysterious throne carved out of stone - and Source du Cercle where the Rev. Sherry anointed Rev. Dr. JC in October 2008.

Monday, September 14: We journey to Foix and the famous cave: La Grotte de Niaux, which is an exceptional example of a painted prehistoric cave in that the main gallery (the salon noir) is a long but interesting walk from the cave's mouth. After a dim walk in the silent, womb-like stillness, you'll break into a large naturally domed space to marvel at the paintings above. There are extraordinary representations of horses and bison here.

On the way to Foix we visit the famous troubadour castle; Chateau Puivert, which was featured in the film "The Ninth Gate."

Tuesday, September 15: We visit the source of the river Sals (Salt River) at a place called "La Fontaine Salée, then experience La Fontaine des Amours (fountain of love), La Source de la Madeleine (spring of the Magdalene), and the holy mountain of Bugarach; the mountain that inspired Jules Verne to write Journey to the Center of the Earth. Mt. Bugarach is reputed to be the site of an ancient Essene community and is a mystical mountain with powerful energy. The geology of Bugarach is notable. Its top layers are older than bottom ones.

In the afternoon we journey to Limoux where we will visit the church of Notre Dame de Marceille with its Black Virgin or the Black Madonna. In the gardens of Notre Dame de Marceille is the healing fountain of Mary, with the serpent entwined at her feet. We end our day with a visit to a vineyard where we experience tasting various Blanquettes.

Wednesday, September 16: We leave our condos and travel to the Mediterranean and the Cote Vermeille. On the way we visit the famous ruined castles of Peyrepertuse. Our lodging for the next three days is directly on the Mediterranean at Canet en Roussilion. Our hotel, Maricel offers breath-taking views of the sea and an opportunity to spend time in its spa and indoor pool or swim in the inviting warm waters of the Mediterranean.

Castle Peyrepertuse

Thursday, September 17: Today we offer time for rest, relaxation and beach time with a late afternoon teaching session on the beach. Breakfast included.

Friday, September 18: A very special day as we visit the Perillos region of Southern France, which is connected with Rennes-le-Chateau. Initiations will be conducted on this day. Breakfast included.

Carcassonne

Saturday, September 19: After breakfast we depart the Mediterranean and head towards Carcassonne. Out of all of the fortified medieval cities on the European continent, Carcassonne is known as the most intact. This stone city with its towering turrets and castle surrounded by an impenetrable wall is awesomely impressive—evening completion ceremony and celebration. Breakfast included.

Sunday, September 20: Morning Departure for Toulouse Airport.

Fee: $2600 (does not cover any transportation costs). If you would like to join us on this most special journey, please contact us for registration and payment procedures.
