Refuge of the Apocalypse

Nine Day Journey April 25 - May 3, 2009
Questing for the Grail—A Journey
into Mystical-Warriorship
“Thrice happy may be called the mortal
Who, ere he steps through Hades’ portal
Has seen Eleusis’ light before descending
For his is joy and victory unending,
And death to him brings life’s new offering—
The others plough their way through pain and suffering.”
Apocalypse is derived from the Greek word apokalypsis.
Although it's often used to describe a great devastation or cataclysm, the
literal meaning of apocalypse is actually an unveiling, or revealing.
Our Refuge of the Apocalypse journey will
unveil the secrets of the mystical-warrior as well as unveiling
the mysteries of this magical land—the setting for the Lord of the Rings
and the Journey to the Center of the Earth.
Our destination is the Languedoc-Roussillon Pyrenees region
of Southern France. This is a land where many
spiritual and esoteric traditions flourished, such as the keepers of the Holy
Grail, medieval alchemists, the Knights Templars, the Troubadour Tradition and the
Gnostic Cathars.
In addition, this is the sacred land of the Merovingian’s, long-haired sorcerer-kings whose most sacred symbol was the bee and were descendents of ancient Troy and the Spartans. We will explore the mysticism of these sorcerer-kings as well as the fearlessness and the fighting spirit of the Spartans.
Mystical-Warriorship has been
portrayed at various times throughout history from the mythical Knights of the
Round Table to the present day Jedi Knights of Star Wars and the Elfish
warriors of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Even though they are mythically portrayed,
they are based on truth. This is the truth of the potential mystical power that
each of us carries within ourselves; dormant as it may be.
A mystical-warrior does not solely depend on a force of
arms. In fact, the body is just an extension of the warrior's strong heart,
strong mind and strong spirit. Our physical-ness is limited through aging,
injuries and genetics. But the strength of our heart/mind and spirit are
limitless.
Join Rev. Dr. JC Husfelt and his son Rev. James Husfelt as
they guide you in awakening this dormant mystical martial power. The Japanese refer to this mystical martial power as Shinbu, spiritual martial power or spiritual martialism. This concept at once epitomizes and transcends physical combat where in the body there is no body but a body of spirit. There will be a special initiation into this most secret mystical martial power. Martial and mystical
training sessions will be held daily. The following is a brief, but not
complete, itinerary of our mystical journey:
Saturday, April 25:
We begin our journey in Nostradamus’ Alet-le-Bains, where we can see his
house and visit the famous abbey ruins with the huge Star of David on the
church window. Our place of refuge is the Bishop’s Palace where we will
stay for five nights.
Sunday, April 26:
Our mystical journey begins with pre-dawn bathing in the sacred Aude River.
After our breakfast buffet we head west, to the land of the Ariège. Our
first stop is Esperaza to visit the church
of Archangel Mikael.
This afternoon we visit the mystical Rennes-le-Chateau where
we ponder the ancient mysteries and spend quality time as we explore La
Val-Dieu - Valley of the Gods. Throughout the graveyard, garden and church of Rennes le Chateau, there are secret
teachings of the mystery schools. The church is small, situated on top of a
hill that overlooks the Valley of the Gods, where abundant crops and rich soil
bask under the golden sun.

Monday, April 27:
We depart Alet-le-Bains in the morning and journey to a place known as the Gateway to Heaven. Our quest today will take us to the famous ruined castles of Peyrepertuse, Queribus and Padern.
In the afternoon, we continue on to La Caune (the cave) for a mystical warrior initiation at dusk. This cave served as a sacred sanctuary for what one could call “a form of primitive initiation.” The cave has a natural “cathedral shape:” the area near the entrance descends and offers seating accommodation, towards the “altar”, completely created by the forces of Nature. Caves are seen as entrances into the Underworld, the entrance to Fairyland, where mythical creatures could be encountered. They are seen as entrances into the body of the
Earth – into the womb of the Mother Goddess.
Tuesday, April 28:
We begin the day with an awesome breakfast buffet then off to Rennes-les-Bains
and the holy mountain
of Bugarach; the mountain
that inspired Jules Verne to write Journey to the Center of the Earth.
Rennes-les-Bains known for its healing baths and its natural hot springs invites us to purify in the sacred waters of the two rivers that flow into it—the Sals (salt water) and the Blanque (fresh water). A special initiation will then occur at the Stone Seat.
Wednesday, April 29:
Next, we visit the famous troubadour castle; Chateau Puivert, which was featured
in the film "The Ninth Gate." And finally, we arrive at the Cathar castle of Montsegur,
known as the Sun Temple.
There are a lot of mysteries connected with this castle. It
is said to be the last known residence of the Holy Grail. Also it is thought
that the castle may have been a place where sun worship took place. One reason
is the keep where the windows are aligned in such a way that during the summer
solstice the first rays of sunlight shine in through the windows on one side,
through the keep and out of the windows on the other side.
Thursday, April 30: Today after our breakfast buffet, we depart the Bishop’s Palace and head towards Carcassonne. Out of all of
the fortified medieval cities on the European continent, Carcassonne is known as the most intact. This
stone city with its towering turrets and castle surrounded by an impenetrable
wall is awesomely impressive. We have left the quiet land of alchemy, which pulsed
under the surface, to enter now into the medieval city.
Friday, May 1: We make a special journey to the Castles of Lastours before we visit and tour a very special winery that produces the exceptional sparkling wine of Limoux.
Saturday, May 2:
Today we explore the city and its treasures before our evening session—a
time for celebration and memories.
Sunday, May 3:
Morning completion ceremony and departure.
Fee: $2600 (does
not cover transportation costs). If you would like to join us on this most
special journey, please Contact Us or e-mail us at spirit@divinehumanity.com for registration and payment
procedures.
