The roots of The Morning Star Order of the Archangel Mikael extend back in time to 1987 and the first of three primary divine occurrences that came about over a ten-year period of time. This divine event was the Descending Spirit Exorcism (Kō Rei) of Dr. Husfelt, which occurred in October of that year on the sacred Japanese mountain of Saint Kūkai —Kōyasan. During the exorcism, which took place at midnight in front of Kōbō Daishi’s (Kūkai) mausoleum, Dr. Husfelt experienced the descending power, spirit and essence of the Immovable Wisdom King—Fudo Myōō, messenger of Dainichi Nyorai (Cosmic Buddha).

Immovable Wisdom King—Fudo Myōō

The founder, Kūkai (774-835) and his mountain, Kōyasan, drew Dr. Husfelt from the very beginning of his quests to Japan. Esoteric Buddhism is based on the belief that Buddhahood or Divinehood may be attained in this body, this life and this world. Kūkai believed in the Divine Human or Buddha Human, and even though Dr. Husfelt had not yet awakened to his message of Divine Humanity, there was still a pull, an urge to study and to understand this messenger of True Word Buddhism and to explore and feel his mountain world of Kōyasan.

In 1987 Dr. Husfelt knew nothing about Kūkai’s connection with the Morning Star: “Kōbō Daishi (Kūkai) wrote much about Buddhism but little about himself. In one of his books, he said that when he meditated at Cape Muroto, the morning star appeared in the sky. Japanese Buddhists think this means he became enlightened while doing the Morning Star Meditation in a cave called Mikura-do. It overlooks the sea near the cape.” (Echoes of Incense, Weiss)

The second divine experience occurred on the Big Island of Hawaii during October of 1993. Early dawn on a Sunday, after a late Saturday afternoon ceremonial “feeding of the spirits” conducted at the sacred Pu’uhonua o Honaunau—Place (City) of Refuge, Dr. Husfelt experienced a vision when he saw a star shining brighter than all others and he heard a voice from heaven said: “This star is you; you are this star.” The star was the Morning Star. Five days before, Dr. Husfelt, along with his son Jamie and a Hawaiian Kahuna, had visited the Mo’okini Heiau—a war heiau dedicated to the martial God Ku—to penetrate darkness with light. Dr. Husfelt subsequently had an experience with a spirit of the heiau.

Mo’okini Heiau

The priests of IO—IAO, originally built the Mo’okini Heiau. IAO is Hawaiian for Infinite Light, Morning Star. “It is interesting to note that the Hawaiians were not the only people who constructed cities of refuge – in the Old Testament of the Bible, when the Hebrews entered the Promised Land Joshua followed a directive given by God through Moses and named six Hebrew cities of refuge. The cities were all built on high ground so that fugitives could see them.” (Exploring Lost Hawai’i)

August 1996 to August 1997 was a year of transitions on the Earth, a year of beginnings and a time of universal wisdom that opened the gate to the Sixth Sun of the Mesoamericans also known as the Age of Aquarius. On the night of the new moon in August 1997, in response to a prayer by Dr. JC Husfelt, to show a sign of his previous incarnation by name—a name that people would recognize today, the Archangel Mikael appeared (as an extremely large otherworldly column of intense white light) with two assisting angels (smaller columns), as well, a star shot across the heavens, a dove flew overhead, at least one apprentice saw three crosses and the nightly visitation was preceded by an otherworldly thunder/lightning/rain storm during the afternoon. JC and Sherry Husfelt and 12 of their spiritual apprentices physically witnessed this sacred sign and visitation. From this visitation, the completion of the three divine occurrences, and the connection that Dr. JC Husfelt has with the Archangel Mikael, Ku and Fudo Myōō, The Order was founded as a Holy Order wherein the initiates are messengers and bearers of light for the Order’s Guardian Trinity: Archangel Mikael—the Archangel of the Grail and the Age of Aquarius—Ku and Fudo Myōō.
