7 STEPS TO A SPIRITUAL LIFE
Health, Healing, Love and Power
Many today are seeking and searching for some type of
spiritual roots, which will ground them and nourish them in these very troubled,
materialistic and transformational times. Over the past few decades, there has
been an explosion of books and articles on a potpourri of New Age and Self-help
subjects and practices, with each one supposedly pointing the way to Nirvana.
Many espouse systems of healing and empowerment, but few dig deep enough to the
entrenched beliefs that cause our individual and societal sickness and
darkness. Everyone has the right to be free from beliefs that shackle and
imprison one in a dungeon of despair, shame and fear. Each person has the right
to a life of freedom, ‘light’ and happiness. Every human being has that power
within himself or herself. Each person has the right to love and be loved.
Every person has the right to a life of awe and wonderment. Every one needs to
dream and imagine for themselves the miracle of creation.
As we enter the Age of Aquarius, it is time for every
individual to see themselves for who they truly are and who they have always
been. It is time to ‘wake up’; awaken from the sleep of institutionalized
systems of fear, control and power. It is time to realize that we are a
spiritual being, a divine being, in an earthly body; a body that is also, so very
precious and sacred. There are NO gatekeepers between us and spirit and
creation. Awaken to a life of spiritual richness, and possibly the happiness,
that has been eluding you, will suddenly appear and envelope you in a golden
robe of sacred softness.
- Awaken
To Your True Self—We are not sinful human beings; we are not just human
beings; we are divine human beings with the light, spark, energy, and
vibration of creation within each of us... the Tree of Life is truly within us.
We are also not alone in this
divine paradigm. Each and every living thing on this sacred earth, the
earth that is the great Mother that provides and nurtures us, has the
vibration of God, the greatest Mystery of Mysteries, within them. Every
tree is sacred, every animal (birds, etc.) is sacred, every human is
sacred, equal and each other’s brother and sister, and the whole earth,
not just one small parcel or area, is sacred and divine.
Divine Humanity is the foundation stone of our spirituality and the first step
in embracing a spiritual life of love and power. This is the key that
opens the gate to the wonders and the healing that is within us and
outside of us. Every spiritual way and system flows from this most basic
paradigm and belief. Without this belief, I feel that you will be climbing
an illusionary rocky path of fear and intimidation that will separate you
from others, especially ones of a different race and religion, and most
importantly, separate you from the stream of creation.
“Some will be in fear and doubt
in accepting their divinity, wanting neither the responsibility nor the
authority of what it means. The present religions of your world encourage
fear and doubt for their own self-serving control. They do not teach
self-responsibility or self-authority desiring only the finite power
inherent within the illusionary materialism of earthly structure and form.
Fear is the greatest motivator of your race. Fear is separation. Fear
comes from your humanness. But light, what your race calls unconditional
love, unites. This is not the light of your dualistic minds dark but the
light of love of creation THAT is an oneness of being. Divine
unconditional love comes from your divinity. It is the opposite of fear.”
(The Transitional Age Chronicles)
- Accept The Power Within—If you accept
the belief that you are divine as well as human, then logically the power,
to transform, to forgive, to embrace and express divine unconditional
love, to feel at peace and to feel at one and not separate, is within you,
within the starry heavenly vibrational essence that is your true heart,
your true self and your true soul.
We are in fact never alone. The power that is within us connects us to
everything on this earth, and if you can stretch your imagination, we are
connected to every star and galaxy in creation. Our star essence within us
is as important to God as the grandest galaxy. One cannot exist without
the other.
The power within us may be symbolically termed our Holy Grail—the sacred
cup that contains our star essence. It is our heart that is the sacred
reservoir of our holy blood, and it is in that moment between heartbeats,
that our creative transformation takes place. We are not co-creators but
transformers in an ecstatic dance of cosmic proportions. We are each fallen
angels striving to return home with ‘brighter wings’.
Seek not and see not your power in earthly finite material things. This
type of power is fleeting and may be taken from you at any time; the
highest may become the lowest in a heartbeat. But the power within you is
eternal and may never be taken from you. When one sees and believes this
spiritual truth, the lowest may become the highest. Express your divinity
that is your true power and worth.
- Be
Gentle But Firm With Yourself—I put this as the third step for one
important reason. We are human as well as divine. As humans we make
mistakes and these mistakes and wrongdoings may possibly cause pain and
suffering to others as well as to ourselves. And also, life is truly a
mystery in its workings and the pain and suffering that it brings to the
young and the seemly undeserving. From a spiritual philosophical
viewpoint, the sufferings of life are the opportunities for the growth of
our spirit, which I truly believe, but it does little, when you are in the
midst of the hopelessness and suffering, to help. Be gentle but firm with
yourself and be gentle and compassionate with others.
To be gentle but firm is to be as the bamboo where it bends to the winds
of adversity (caused by ourselves or others), but returns to its centered
straightness as it forgives and lets go. Forgiveness is paramount to our
spiritual growth. Not forgiveness through a proxy institution, but
forgiveness from our heart, of others and of ourselves. Heavenly
forgiveness from God is automatic and immediate; you do not need an institution to do
this for you. On the contrary, what is not immediately given is our own
earthly forgiveness. The key ingredient here is the letting go of the
fear, guilt, shame, anger and resentment. This is accomplished while looking within ones heart and
vowing not to make the same mistake again and again, or to keep repeating
the wrongdoing to one’s self or others.
It is this third step where we begin to see the world with baby eyes, talk
our truth and express the beauty of our heart as a flower. (Please see the Practice of Divine Humanity)
- Live
Now, In this Moment—Whether we call this ‘being present’ or a state of
‘mindfulness’, the spiritual principle and your next spiritual step is
learning to live in the present—this breath, this heartbeat. A spiritual
person of love and power lives in the present only visiting the past for
healing unresolved circumstances and issues, and the lessons learned from these
past experiences. And living in the present, a person of power only journeys to the future to explore the
potentialities of life. Do not live in the past or the future, only in the
present.
Living in the past does not only mean the distance past. It also refers to
the past day or even the past hour. Our minds have the unique ability to
attach to the past and to the unknown future. If you think about it, it is
philosophically and spiritually impossible to attach to the present, as
each present moment turns into the past with each turning heartbeat. We
can experience the present through our senses but as soon as we attach to
the senses, the present moment is gone and the attachment is to the
immediate past.
To live now, in this moment, means to be aware of our sensory input
without attachment, while letting the past moments flee from our present
reality. Being aware of our breathing will go a long way in helping us
achieve the wonder and power of living now. Stopping our hectic pace of
life and simply observing nature in all of its beauty is another method
for us to practice as we learn to Live Now.
- Bless
And Be Happy—Blessing is our spiritual bouquet of roses. To bless is to
honor and to acknowledge the light that is within all things. To bless is
to spread the honey of our soul through a joyful message of caring praise
and compassionate words. Blessing unites and brings a moment of happiness
through words of adoration. Blessing increases love, but the opposite of
blessing, criticism, decreases love. Blessing bonds us while criticism
separates us.
Be aware of your words to others, and to yourself. Are they critical or
are they words and thoughts of praise, love, encouragement and approval.
Speak your words of powerful love to nature and bless each day in
heartfelt thankful words of respect. Have faith in yourself as a divine
human being; do not let the critical words of others crush you down. They
are the ones in pain and darkness; do not do their dance, focus on the
divine love that is your true self.
- Discover
The World Within—The power is within us, but there is also a wondrous
world within, our divine realm, a place of magic and enchantment where the
knowledge of the ages is stored. Going within, whether through meditation
or inner journeying, unlocks the portals to sacred spaces of power and
knowledge where one may meet guardians, angels, archetypal beings that
will guide and council.
It is a place where one may meet the realities of one’s self. And it is a
place of transformation where one dissolves the illusionary locked box of
materialistic thought. It is the true meeting place of science and
religion.
- Embrace
The Magic Outside Of Us—This is the power of the earth and heaven to heal
us and nurture us. Respect and
honor all aspects of Mother Earth. And discover the magic within the
valleys, streams and mountains of the earth. Look and listen to nature, and you may uncover knowledge and
strength that will help you grow and heal spiritually.
Talk to nature and know that the ancient one’s songs are still alive today
held within the essence of the bubbling of a stream, in the whisper of the
wind or in the cry of a raven. One may hear and know if one listens with
the heart.
Look to heaven: the sun, the moon and the stars. Honor the new and full
moon, sunrise and sunset and celebrate the seasonal cycles of the
equinoxes and the solstices. Feel comfort from the Morning and Evening
Star and bless the seven sisters—the Pleiades. And you will become One, with Heaven and
Earth.
